Australian e-learning software takes out prestigious IT innovation award

Sydney, Australia, December 14, 2005.

Sydney-based business, Pacific Multimedia, has successfully competed against a field of well over 100 Australian technology companies to be awarded a prize in the federal government's Secrets of IT Innovation Awards for 2005. The Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Helen Coonan, awarded the prize to CEO, Gordon Layard for their innovative e-learning product Metamorphosis.

Apixel Metamorphosis, automatically and instantly generates dynamic e-learning courses. E-learning uses computer technology to train or educate staff or students and replaces or complements traditional classroom learning. With Metamorphosis, all the designer needs to do is provide their training content to Metamorphosis in the form of a Word document. Metamorphosis automatically creates a lesson, complete with matching graphics and learning activities. It tracks the progress and performance of students and can be delivered on any platform including CD Roms, intranet or the web. Essentially it can do in minutes what e-learning course designers previously took weeks or months to achieve.

The company's automated e-learning products have been designed for the corporate and education sectors both domestically and overseas.

"We are delighted with the recognition that this award represents", Layard commented. "Developing e-learning materials is typically a time consuming and expensive task. Metamorphosis fully automates the process and makes it possible for business people, university lecturers and school teachers to instantly create courses for their staff or students."
